Congratuations go to Team Seabourne! They are justifiably proud of their acheivement of winning their class (2B) following a100 nautical mile race from the Yealm to Trebeurden with 27 other yachts dvided into 4 classes. They set off at 6.30pm and were racing on a Jeanneau SO 35 and the conditions were good for a Spinnaker run until darkness. They then crossed the Shipping Channel in thick fog and then once daylight came - up went the spinnaker once again. They really pushed it along nearly broaching on several occasions...all enjoying the thrill. They got into Trebeurden in 13.5 hours...a fabulous time and a couple of hours ahead of any of class 2. They were in with the big boys...the multihulls and class 1. The prize giving wasn't unil the next afternoon so they had a long, nervous wait whilst the times and handicaps were sorted. Finally their class was called... last of the four classes. I got an almost tearful husband calling home to say they had done it. Well done indeed to Skipper Johnathon, Navigator, Richard (Armada Sails) and crew Dave and Ridley. Not only did they win a cup but they also won a "Yacht Bag" as Armada Sails had sponsered the race!!
